Reading a label, and why we keep it open
Four things homeowners ask us to explain.
What a label is
A pesticide label is the law. It says where a product may be used, how much, and what to do afterward. Using it any other way is a violation, so we follow it.
What a safety data sheet is
It lists what is in a product and what to do if someone is exposed. We keep one for every product on the truck and give you a copy on request.
Words we avoid
We won't say safe, natural or chemical-free about a product, because a label doesn't allow it and none of the three can be checked. We say what the product is, where it goes and how long to stay away.
What organic means for a product
Where a product is OMRI-listed, we tell you, because that listing is what organic means for a product. A listing doesn't change how we use it: where it goes, and how much, comes from the label.
